The kids and I spent the weekend at Gramma and Papa’s house. We left early Friday morning since we had a lot of laundry to do (it makes more sense to do laundry at the laundromat when you’ve had a bunch of sick kids and lots of blankets to wash). By the time we went, we were all healthy again, thankfully.
Hannah, Lauren and I went back to Gramma’s after we were finished with the laundry, but Avery stayed in town with Gramma, doing some last minute shopping. Lauren and Hannah get along really well sometimes. Friday was one of those times.
Lauren loves Papa’s dog, Penny. And I think Penny loves all of the attention!
It has been -20* lately, so some of Gramma’s window decorations weren’t staying on the window. Avery’s job was to put them all back up.
Teegan and Leila got to Gramma’s on Sunday morning, after spending some time with their dad. This was a completely unposed shot – he just reached over and hugged his sister tight. So sweet!
Hannah was excited that I had a present.
These photos are out of order a bit, but this one is from later in the evening. Teegan was so tired, he just curled up with his Uncle Rob and fell right to sleep.
Avery wanted to show off her Christmas sweater dress.
One of the outtakes from the photos my brother took of the kids and I. I really need to smile more – I’m finally happy – but you can’t really tell from this shot!
Sadly, the Blur Ranger couldn’t protect us from getting the stomach flu. My kids and I had it the week before Christmas, but Leila got sick Christmas Eve, right at bedtime, and the rest of the family followed not long after. Even Sarah, my brother’s girlfriend, got it. She was so sweet, helping Leila get all cleaned up and changed after she got sick. My brother rocked Leila while my sister got the car packed and ready to go home (at 9:30 pm).
Lauren was so excited that she got the Elena of Avalor tea set she’d been eyeing at the store.
Penny didn’t want to be left out, so she hopped up on Rob’s lap to watch the kids open presents.
Avery and Leila were there too! They were behind Papa’s chair and too busy playing with their new toys for me to get some photos.
It was a great holiday weekend (up until everyone got sick) and now we’re just relaxing at home, enjoying the last few days of 2017. School starts on Tuesday for the kids, so we’re not really doing anything until then. Plus, it’s -45 windchill out there – no WAY we’re leaving the house!
Happy New Year!
