I got to see the kids for a few hours after school today, and we went to the Police Department and to our favorite Halloween House. We didn’t do much more than that because it’s freezing here (like usual) and we are all in various stages of sickness (mostly colds, thankfully). Sometimes, I wish Halloween was in a month that was a little warmer.
Lauren wanted no part of our favorite Halloween House this year (normally it’s a pirate ship, but this year it was a bit scarier) but Avery and Hannah loved it all. Lauren wanted to be Elena of Avalor again this year, but the other two chose to be butterflies. You can’t really tell since we needed winter hats, boots, and coats.
Next year, I might just stick to indoor events, so the kids can wear their costumes the way they are meant to be worn.
We are expecting snow again (and some rain) so I guess I’m just grateful the sun finally came out so at least it looked sort of warm…ish. I told the kids next year, they can only wear the one-piece costumes that look like pajamas. They will be warm, won’t have any random pieces to lose, and will actually look like the character/thing they are trying to be.
Anyway, I’m off to do some more homework, type a few hundred words for NaNoWriMo and hopefully sleep off this cold. Happy Halloween!
